About Dr Ashley Carreras
Dr Ashley Carreras has a vast amount experience in using a range of quantitative research techniques and the development of strategic plans, writes DMU Graduate Champion, Bansi Tank.
Dr Carreras is also actively engaged in leading Creating Strategic Solutions consultancy projects for international corporations, local authorities and not-for-profit organisations. He has experience of delivering this work across a range of countries including the USA, Spain, Poland, Russia and Belarus.
The Creating Strategic Solutions team provides process consultancy to improve group decision making at all levels of an organisation from strategic decision making through to process implementation. Ashley has worked with big companies such as PepsiCo and Tata Steel along with local organisations such as the LeicestHERday Trust and Braunstone Community Association.
Dr Carreras was a student at De Montfort University in the late 1980s where he studied BA (Hons) Economics, after this he became a lecturer at the university and also completed a Master’s degree in Economics in 1995. He has also gained a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from Leicester University.
The modules he teaches include Micro Economics, Decision Analysis and Managing Complexity.
Dr Carreras is not a person you would want to mess with! He has a second dan black belt in Wadō-ryū (a form of karate). He also enjoys long distance cycling and likes to travel.
Dr Carreras has visited 47 out of the 50 US states!
